One of my baskets has some brown residue mixed in with the plastic, I can’t tell what it is, maybe a different plastic or bits of rust. I’m not using them for food so I won’t bother sending them back but be careful if you are. Some other feedback made me curious so I weighed out some water in them too, it can fit about 780g with the basket, 800g without so I think the 850ml is just the total space including in the lid. 500g of water will just fit under the basket handles. Otherwise seem fine.
